blogger event #7 the pub poker last stand!

well after changing the game from omaha hi/lo to a deep stack holdem tourny!that kinda suited me as ive hardly ever played omaha hi lo!after a brilliant day fishing the day before i was ready to face the bloggers in the final stand and last event of the 7 event league! to start off with my computers power suplly packed up so i had to quickly download poker.com on my dads computer. i turned up 30 minutes late and to my amazement was only down 45 chips which is pretty sweet considering you start with 5000 !after a few pot i found my self up to 7 k only to fall to 900 chips after folding a big pot!there was around 75 ppl left of the 112 starters and i thought to my self shit im gana fall out early and top 20 on the leaderboard may allude me. meanwhile my kiwi mate kanyezee was ripping up with a stack of 23 k at one stage coming 2nd place. He dropped half his stack and found it hard to come back falling out in 56th. well for me i dont know how but i won my blinds every round and tripled up on rockets to get back up to 7 k it was so funny coz i grinded my way to 18th position and secured my place in the grand final.
I ended up finishing 8th overall with no referal bonuses so i was pretty stoked with that effort i won $90 buks in preize money. my results were

Im so happy i made the top 20 and the grand final. my first blogger tour was a great experience and i even managed to score an accolade!wel c how i go in the final il be watchin all the inspirational movies(Rocky, Rambo, Braveheart,Rounders etc) i can this week in preparation for the biggest tourny ive ever played in!

Blogger tour event #6 Floplicious flop fest!!

gday again readers!
wel after a beautiful saturday paintballing and drinkin with some mates i was ready for another blogger event! i woke up with a bit of a hangoverbut battled through the tourny. i started of ok picking up a few pots so lasted well into the top 50 out of 132 starters including ryosei my flat mate AKA roselaura.(he got knocked out on k10 vs a10 with the 10 on the board gettin beaten by kicker) i battled through losing a few pots here and there but managed to pick up 34th position which i thought wasnt too bad. My best hand was qq so didnt really hit many premium hands but picked up a few little pots so i was happy with that should kee me in the top 20 on the leaderboard hopefully.None of the otherboys really gt to shine in this tourny but Xaqnautilis made the top table and was in great shape until getting knocked out 4th.oh well il go back to my day of being hungover on a yellowstone table or somethin. Oh and i pickup my new freezertoday too haha!

Blogger tour event #5 Skinskis house of blues

well what a day!im sober again for another blogger event i think thats telling me something!!headed round to my mate Mat's (williamwallace666) parents place to watch the All Blacks play France!(The All Blacks winning 23 11) To my delight i started at table five with the host Skinski and a Kiwi mate of mine Cashline. Things got off pretty slowly with all of the players sizing up the table and we all picked up a few little pots. As the tourny progressed i slowly started developing my blinds with some blind steals and a few smallish pots! until the top 20 my stack stayed around 5-10k and i ended up grinding my way to 17th out of 17 which was pretty cool as it would give me ok points for the league but its fair to say i got very lucky!!!!i grinded my way 2 8th position from there winning quite a few all in on my blinds!! Skinski doing very well in his own event picking up 100 buks and 2nd place securing his postion at number one on the leader board!!! So all i all a pretty ordinary tourny for me as i didnt rally pick up too many big pots or god hands but folded well and picked up a lot of small pots!didnt see my mate Kanyezee play but he evidently got 30 something goodluck to the other kiwis in securing a top 20 postion and hopefully go to the Auzzie millions. Im Now sitting in 9th position on the leader board so im stoked!!!2 events to go and things are getting exciting!!

well since i finished my exams and had 1 week off before starting fulltime work i decided id use some of my neteller money and deposit for the first time. I deposited $125 and on the same day recieved $20 free frompoker.com for being a loyal member of the blogger league!sweet deal aye!any way i started playing and afterday 1 ifound my self with 175 in my account making for a 30 dollar profit!i had a few up and downs but was playen real tight and grinded my way to a resonable profit. the next day i must have ben hung over oh thats right i was on the piss for melbourne cup (my three horses lost) that day i ended up down 14 buks taking my total to 161!which was ok considering my state stillpicked up about a thousand comp points which was good for my 100%deposting bonus! the next day i went home to see my family in Rotorua and sat down and kinda showed my dad what i do in terms of playing poker (coz i always tell him of my wins, he wonders how i can make that like i do on the internet) wow what a dream day of poker this was it wasnt long before i took a few small pots taking my yellowstone balance from 15 to 26 and then i hit a monster i had jj 2jk flopped betting was going like crazy cant remember exactly anyway a 10 cameon the turn which scared me with the straight draw out for an AQ i kept in the pot hoping for a river house and a king came on the river giving me the boat. I bet out 4 buks and a guy reraised me all in for another 15 mmmmm i hoped like hell he didnt have kings over something as hed takeme down but i decided to call as the pot was looking healthy and i had a pretty good looking hand, He turnded over 22 and i took down the pot with a bigger full house it was a $50 pot and my dad was right there to c it how cool! about two hands later those lovely aces apeared inmy hand i was like dad have a look at this! i raised the pot 1 dollar as it came round and there was another guy on my who wason the button who reraised me to 4 dollars i laughed this should be good i thought i reraised his reraise to 9 buks with the knowledgethere is no better starting hand than AA he then went all in over the top of me i thought must be KK so i called but the nut carried an aq off suit against me i laughed and took allhismoney and sent him packing. my bankrollwas at 81 buks on yellowstone and id only played 30 hands or so!i was telling my dad thats how ya do it while he was the calling me a jammy bastard haha!after that i travelled home back to Hamilton and told the flattiesabout my big pots and carried on. in a day where the poker gods were on my side it just got better, for some reason there were so many fish around i played for a few hours and by the end of the day had made 110 dollars profit!!!!!which is pretty good for yellowstone tables! So its the next day now and im about to go have a crack at it again should be good hopefully!!!

blogger event #4 iron girls omaha

well for the first time i wasnt hung over due to my last up and coming exams! i ws pretty switched on and t was a great tourny. from an early stage i was stacked and in 2nd place i hit a lot of great hands and just kept chippin away at gettin my stack bigger and bigger i hit a lot of nut flushes str8s,houses, and even a couple of quads!!! i got my stack up 2 bout 10 k and was leading the tourny,it seemed i couldnt lose hitting sets and housing was awesome!!!hand after hand i kept hitting a had a lot of starting hands with high or medium pocket pairs! my stack got up 2 25kish and i lead ight up 2 the top 16 when egolsen took my number one position over i hung in there to the final table of 8 everyone in the final table was relatively evenly stacked so it was pretty cool. a few fell cheaply to the likes of egolsen and freeroll i hung i there and picked up a few cheeky pots. in my last hand hit kkrags so rasied it peflop to be called by another player flop came 527 (or there about)with two diamonds giving my a pair of kings and the flush draw i pushed all in and he called with qq rags he hit his q on the turn giving him a set and leaving me hoping for a river diamond or a king for the 60k ish pot i got knocked out fourth feeling happy with my achievement but with the vad taste in my mouth knowing i was ahead when u went all in!oh well fourth should get me some good blogger points to hopefully keep me in that top 20 and closer to my trip to auzzie millions!!haha heres hoping

blogger event 3

Well i woke up with another hang over but ready to rock in the blogger# 3 as i havent played alot of poker lately due to exam prep!Naturally i was pretty excited about about 2 hands in i hit kk and took quickly doubled up to 4k off the impressive Mada he had jj and nothing on the board helped him so was a good early pot. I stuck around for a bit plaing a few hands and stealing the sitting out blinds! had a pretty healthy roll with 5k heading intotop 50 positioned about 17th had aa twice and kk twice,quite a few other good pockets too. I had 55 so limped in behind the button the flop came 5jj giving me the house on the flop. He bet out and i called trying to kee my hand under the radar. The turn came 2 and so i called again. River came 7 and i thought sweet il bet himout he bet and i re raised all in for about 3.5k to my ammazement he had limped with j 2 and hit a bigger boat than mine!so yea i was knocked out on that and ended up 49th which kinda sukd as i was doin quite well and i believe i woyuld have challenged the top 10!

Cali friday freeroll

i just checked my emails this morning and found out there was a $650 freeroll with a 100 buk bounty and also a $25 one too, on live poker. ive played in a few of these but have bubbled everytime. They blinds are very strange and seem to move very fast in these tournys which kinda sucks as u have to hit your hands to progress and have any chance to money. This particular tourny i hit coldcardsmostofthe day and was forced to go all in on a j10 diamonds i hit my flush and got my stack up to around 3k which at that stage was about average. I struggled my way picking up some small pots because of some really loose play from the chipleaders. I battled my way thru to the top30 knowing top 20 paid its fair to say there were plenty of donks around i forced all in under the gun with kj os but was beaten by two guys who hit trip 4's on the turn leaving me down and out and to my amazement 20th bagging a small $6.50 pot for my time. All in all not bad tourny placing 20th out of a field of 180ish. would been nice to make top 10 but the tournament style was very hit or miss!

blogger event two

after a huge night out on the piss i woke up early especially for the blogger 2nd event. It was pretty sweet got seated with both Kanyezee and Cashline. We had quite a few gr8 players on our table so it was pretty tight. Kanyezee had a pretty bad run and got knocked out really early i was looking ok until i got dealt KK i raised preflop double theblinds which were at 75 150 i think. A player went all in for 1650 and a guy who had 4k called i went all n as u would with cowboys! they turned over ace 6 and a qj of hearts nothing helped me on the flop but two hearts came and i was a lil worried but still ahead he had 32 % on that flop nothing came on the turn but i got knoked out with a river heart. I was absolutely gutted as its a great idea the blogger and i really wna get to the top 20!!!but oh well should be pretty close to having enough points at this stage!Anyways its beer pizza fresh fish and bathurst for me today should be great!!!!Hate losing when you have the best hand and limpers kill you!!!!!!!

Hockey tourny rap up

Well hockey tourny started last sunday where i woke up a lil bit late for the blogger event at poker.com i found my self short stacked and well i doubled up a few times to about 6k i had about 30 mins b4 the van rolled up to pick me up. I continued to play premium hands only and it was all good i found my self on 20k with 19 people remaining i was in 1st place but it sucked as i had to leave in 5 minutes!!!My mate Kanyezee was doing pretty good to with around 12k at that stage. The van pulled up and i had to go so i handed it on to my flat mate packnsave. he ended up 9th but o well at least i gt money from a position in which i thought i wouldnt get any!Kanyezee finished 12th all good as we get tour points which could be very important!

Anyway back to the hockey. It was a long road trip down to the cold and windy Palmy north it took us about 6 hours in 2 vans!with a few stops for eats and leaks haha. Finally we arrived at our accomidation the ambassador motel! We settled in an headed down to the turf for training. it was a shocker the turf itself was very bumpy and uneven it was fair to say we never really adjusted to it the whole week. Every Night we had a kangaroo court and a meeting about the next days game. Some of the fines were hilarious!There was plenty of public nudity and we happened to acquire a bit of opposition team gear too! Down to the games first up we played west coast we went 4 nil down in the first 20 minutes which was pretty freaky considering we are defending champs!in the 2nd half we scored 5 unanswered goals to win 5-4. In our 2nd game we were to play the home team manawatu who had bumped up there team with a couple of NHL players. It was a hard fought game which we lost 2-1. Our next game was against wairarapa we really should have won this game but ended up drawing 3-3. Our last pool game was against the NZ police and to make the semis and edge out Wairarapa we needed to beat them by at least 4 goals. And as the pattern suggested we had a shocker of a first half going down 2 goals early on only to hit back 1 straight away the half time score was 2-1 down we came out firing and scored 6 unanswered 2nd half goals to secure a spot in the semis. We Were to play a strong opposition from the other pool it was wellington! We were very compeitive in the 1st half with the half time score 2-1 to them. The 2nd half sucked and we fell apart the side felt the pinch with a few injuries and a player pulled out due to glandular fever. final score was 9-1. The anti climax play off for 3rd and 4th was to be against nelson. Our injuries and tired legs saw us suffer another loss going down 4-3 and ending up coming 4th!which aint too bad but wasnt really where we wanted to be. The tourny and the trip home was awesum as we got totally liqoured and sung til we couldnt no more all in all a great time was had by all and what goes on tour stays on tour!haha

ive only ever had two of the elusive hand !heres some screen shots unfortunately didnt really get much reall money from em one of was in a heads up rattlesnake room and the other was in a funstep 3 which i ended up winning!! hope you guys get the joy of getting one day its quite a buzz in poker to get em!one in evry 650 thousand hands or something!

withdrawing

over the last few month i have been working very hard on findinga system in which i can withdraw money from my poker.com account. i have both a neteller account and a click to pay account now. i had to use both as i won a 100 buks on island poker from a free 10 dollars i was givin not a bad score!!! i tried to get a cheque and did recieve it but my bank in new zealand westpac didnt let me cash it as it was in us dollars from a canadian bank so i still have 100 buks sitting there for my virgin deposit on poker.com hehe!500 depositor freerolls look out! the primary poker forum i belong to is poker mates nz. its a really cool forum which offers acces to a variety of different sites and freerolls and so on. we play together alot and are getting to know more and more kiwis who play online and live poker which is awesome. Masala is the site administrator and he puts in a lot of work on the site and offers us alot of good opportunities. being on a poker forum site is a wicked idea for anyone wanting to learn more about the game and meet new like minded people. poker.com is where all my poker playing began really. i downloaded it as a complete newbie of the game. i slowly learnt a few things and played a lot of play money to do so. i got up to 900k play money starting from 500 play money dollars it took about a month. Its amazing how much u learn in the first month or two. along with play money i played in th freerolls recording my positions in the 1st month my best placing was 56th. I quickly learned that patience is the only way to do well in these sorts of tournaments. i came 9th the first time i moneyed in a poker.com freeroll. i decided to play havana table and i made it up 2 25 dollars which i thought was pretty cool. After drinking i would come home and waste it on blackjack or on poker, needless to say i lost all my earnt money fast. A few months passed and many more hours of poker playing. i had a few more good results in freerolls but never have won one....yet ive came 2nd twice and 3rd too!i have never deposited into online poker but have been good enough to withdraw 380 dollars american which for a poor student aint bad at all!!well i dont think so anyway. i plan to keep learning by watching videos of pros and various other things you pick up along the way. fulltilt poker has a few good tips and hints which can help new players. And hopefully win more real money!!!!oh well thats me and my time at poker.com so far.il keep my wins posted as often as i can

hockey tourny coming up

im currently involved in the waikato mens hockey side! we are the defending champs of national tourny which we won last year!(sweet medals) lol. Im really excited this year as it will be held in paolmy north which means a Road Trip!!! And a big piss trip home hopefully with some medals. Tournament weeks always rock plenty of team bonding and what not also tonnes of gags and hijinks. Plus this year there is gonna be heaps of initations to the team members who are new this year. Lol and of course the youngest player does all the washing for the whole team and the only person who can help him is the dick of the day!well it promises to be a great time for all involved!il keep ya posted about how we go and any funny storys which may pop up peace out
